This probably is not recent news, but I just read that I can install Linux on my iPod. Why you ask? Why not? You will be able to record music, play games, and view images using the new Linux OS. This article says, “It’s unlikely that anything bad will happen while you’re installing Linux.” Installing Linux – problematic? C’mon!

The article also states in order to get started, you need your iPod, the FireWire cable to attach your iPod to your Mac, and the Linux OS. If you do not have a MAC but a Windows OS, you can follow this article, Installing Linux when Running Windows.

If I have some spare time I may try this, but the iPod actually belongs to my wife, and she hates using Linux. Here are some resources for further reading.
