We are almost in the middle of summer now, and I have been on a hiatus from posting to the blog. After selling my old motorcycle, I finally purchased a new one that better fits me. It is a 2006 Suzuki V-Strom 1000. It is a joy to ride.

I was a giant on my old Yamaha 650, perhaps too big for the bike. The man who purchased it from me looked good on it, it fit him. As I watched him drive away on it, I laughed, thinking to myself how I must have dwarfed that bike.

The new V-Strom is a comfortable bike, and allows me to sit more upright, rather than the cruiser style. There is a large community of riders where I can read and post questions, thoughts, and ideas for improving the riding experience. Since joining the V-Strom forums, I have learned what oil and chain lube to use, what windshields to buy, what RPM ranges maximize engine and fuel efficiency, as well as, what a "farkle" is.
