I just picked up two, 200 GB Maxtor DiamondMax 10 drives from NewEgg.com. These are my first serial ATA drives, and I am excited I chose serial ATA. My motherboard supports two IDE channels, as many do, which limits me to the number of physical hard drives I can run at a time. My two IDE channels are occupied by three hard drives and one DVD drive. Using SATA, I am able to plug two more drives into my system. In addition to five hard drives and one DVD drive, I also load my external USB drive, giving me a total of 1,000 GB (1 TB) of storage. I have finally reached the terabyte plateau."
